Working at home time management is a very easy as well as a very difficult task. This is because it is difficult to be focused when you are working at home. It is very important to keep time on your side by implementing effective time management techniques when you are working at home. Though you are your own boss when working at home and you can work at times when you feel comfortable; still there may be more difficulties while working at home than when you are working in an office. In this context, working at home time management becomes all the more relevant.

  • Not being able to finish a task in one sitting

Techniques to fight these problems:

The first and foremost task you could do is to set objectives. It is very important to keep an objective which you must try and fulfill at the end of the day. The objective can be as simple as complementing the project by the end of the day.

It is also essential to prioritize task to manage time effectively when working at home. One can start by a simple to-do list of the day and give time and priority to each activity accordingly. Once you start working you can keep a check on all the task and time frame you have kept for completing each task.

Procrastinating can be the biggest hurdle when working. It must be avoided at all cost.

When working at home it is important to block out time. That is you should let your family members know not to disturb you when you are working. You can have a short span of ‘block out’ times. Incase you are not expecting any important calls it is advisable to keep phones away from you when working at home.
